TVS Adventure Bike Spied Testing: What We Know So Far

TVS Motor Company is preparing to make its mark in the rapidly growing adventure motorcycle market in India with its upcoming 300cc model, speculated to be called the Apache RTX 300. Recently, the motorcycle was spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time, signaling that its launch is imminent. Here’s everything we know about the highly anticipated bike.

Design of the TVS Adventure Bike

The design of the TVS adventure bike, as seen in spy shots, suggests that it is more geared toward road-based adventure touring than hard-core off-roading. The bike features a tall windscreen that offers better protection from the wind, especially during long highway rides. The front of the motorcycle is equipped with a distinctive beak, a common feature in adventure bikes, located beneath a split LED headlight setup. The sleek split-seat arrangement provides comfort for both the rider and passenger. Additional features include auxiliary lights mounted on the crash guards, which enhance visibility during off-road trails. The exhaust system is designed to be swept up, providing greater ground clearance, while the handlebar-mounted mirrors improve the rider’s visibility.

TVS Adventure Bike Hardware

The hardware of the TVS Apache RTX 300 has been carefully designed to deliver a smooth and stable riding experience on a variety of surfaces. The bike comes with upside-down (USD) forks at the front, which improve suspension performance and handling. At the rear, a monoshock suspension ensures stability and comfort, even on rough roads. The motorcycle rides on alloy wheels fitted with dual-purpose tyres, offering a balance between off-road capability and highway performance. The braking system includes disc brakes on both ends, likely featuring switchable dual-channel ABS to enhance safety during different riding conditions.

Engine and Performance of the TVS Adventure Bike

The TVS Apache RTX 300 is expected to be powered by a newly developed 299cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine from the RT-XD4 platform. This engine is anticipated to produce around 35 bhp and 28.5 Nm of torque, offering a good balance of power for both off-road trails and highway cruising. It will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and the inclusion of a slipper clutch will ensure smoother gear shifts, particularly when riding aggressively or downshifting.

Competition in the Market

Once launched, the TVS Apache RTX 300 will face stiff competition in the growing adventure bike segment in India. Some of the major competitors in this category include the Hero Xpulse 210, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and the newly unveiled 2025 KTM 390 Adventure. With its promising design and performance specs, the TVS Apache RTX 300 is expected to be a strong contender in this competitive market.
